Alert Holding and Pallet Processing

Fueling and Alert-Holding building at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska. Neeser Construction

The Alert Holding and Pallet Processing Facility (AHPP) was one of several Task Orders issued to NCI under a five year Multi-Award Task Order Contract with the USACE. AHPP is a complex that consolidates the “at ready” tasks of the rapid deployment Stryker Brigade. Mobilization, pre-weighed load building, fueling, warehousing (from small arms rounds to Stryker Vehicles), and readiness training needed to be accommodated at one location. The 12-acre site includes a 57,000 sq. ft. pallet processing facility to build and weigh material, 98,000 sq. feet of warehousing, training and administrative space, fueling capability for a dozen vehicles, and hardstand access to the taxiway to load out the deployment aircraft (C-17 and C-30’s). The construction schedule spanned two Fairbanks winters with temperatures often below minus 50 degrees. Innovative construction methodology allowed construction to continue through the worst of the weather; something that had not previously been done in the area.
